In the afternoon a 4×4 excursion via the beach of Elephant Bay, which without the temperature would have nothing to envy the most famous beaches of the tropical islands.
We meet a new colony of cormorants before reacing one of the active Gentoo penguins.
On the way back, we run along ponds populated by other bird species.
[fr] Le matin, dernière visite au port pour assister à l’arrivée du ferry suivi par les dauphins avant le vol avec les petits bimoteurs “habituels” pour atteindre Pebble Island.
Le lodge est bien équipé de cartes d’accès à Internet, tout le monde s’empresse d’en acheter une et essaie de comprendre quelle est la situation sanitaire, la situation semble grave mais moins catastrophique que ce que certaines informations de troisième main avaient laissé entendre.
Dans l’après-midi excursion en 4×4 passant par la plage d’Elephant Bay, qui sans la température n’aurait rien à envier aux plages les plus célèbres des îles tropicales.
Nous rencontrons une nouvelle colonie de cormorans avant d’en croiser une des manchots papou en pleine activité.
Sur le chemin du retour, nous longeons des étangs peuplés d’autres espèces d’oiseaux.

Il lodge è ben fornito di schede d’accesso ad internet, tutti si precipitano ad acquistarne una e cercare di capire quale sia la situazione sanitaria, la situazione sembra seria ma meno catastrofica di quello che certe informazioni di terza mano avevano lasciato intendere.
Nel pomeriggio escursione in 4×4 passando dalla spiaggia di Elephant Bay, che se non fosse per la temperatura non avrebbe niente da invidiare alle più famose spiagge delle isole tropicali.
Incontriamo una nuova colonia di cormorani prima di incontrarne una di pinguini Gentoo in piena attività.
Sulla via del ritorno costeggiamo gli stagni popolati da altre specie di uccelli.
